6:26. રાજા હેરોદ ઘણો દિલગીર થયો. પણ તેણે છોકરીને જે ઈચ્છે તે આપવાનું વચન આપ્યું હતું. અને ત્યાં હેરોદની સાથે જમતાં લોકોએ તેનું વચન સાંભળ્યું હતું. તેથી હેરોદ તેણી જે માગે તેનો અસ્વીકાર કરવા ઈચ્છતો ન હતો.

6:26. Although it grieved the king deeply, he did not want to reject her request because of his oath and his guests.

6:26. Then the king deeply regretted what he had said; but because of the vows he had made in front of his guests, he couldn't refuse her.
